Mindy Dalzell of Wellington is best known as the woman behind Juniper Flowers and Handcraft Gallery in Newtown. American born, Mindy is a florist & handcraft artist who opened the store in 2006 with hopes of having a place to encourage local artists to launch their ideas. In this Masterclass Mindy will demonstrate how to make orchid favours – for multiple gifts for several friends or guests from the individual flowers off one orchid stem - perfect for centrepieces or party favours.

Heike Theiss Fun prints with lino or wood Learn the basics of relief print making from Heike Theis aka Minu and have a go at your own woodcut or lino print. This workshop is for complete beginners or people who want to refresh their memory and get their fingers dirty again. Bring a very simple design in bold strokes or use one of the provided templates. Water based inks, a variety of papers and other basic print materials are provided.

Jenny Deonarain Mens boxer shorts 1 Sew him (or yourself!) a pair of cotton boxer shorts using a sewing machine and overlocker. A great project for beginners, you’ll learn how to sew and overlock simple seams, how to insert elastic for a waistband, and how to sew a button and buttonhole.  The pattern and notes are yours to keep so you can go home and make another pair!

Stiff iron on interfacing or seam stabilising tape
Threads to match
Small scrap of Steam a Seam for applique detail on outer flap
A selection of DMC cotton embroidery floss in co-ordinating colours
